Hilo in your AI

How to connect Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client to your Hilo workspace, what it can do and how to remove it.

What it is

The Hilo connector links your AI assistant —Claude, ChatGPT or any other MCP (Model Context Protocol) client— to your Hilo workspace. Your AI can then read your projects and help you with documents, scopes, timelines and replies, with your permission. Nothing is sent to a client without your approval in Hilo: whatever the AI writes stays as a draft.

The connector uses OAuth: when you connect it, Hilo shows you which permissions the AI is asking for and you decide. You need a studio account in Hilo.

How to connect it

Claude

1. In Claude (web, desktop or mobile) open Settings › Connectors.
2. Tap "Add custom connector", name it Hilo and paste the URL above.
3. Tap Connect: Hilo opens; review the permissions and tap Allow.
4. Done: in a chat, ask for example "how is the [client] project going?".

ChatGPT

1. You need a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu).
2. In ChatGPT open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode.
3. Tap Create: name Hilo, paste the URL above and choose OAuth authentication.
4. Connect: Hilo opens; review the permissions and tap Allow. ChatGPT will ask you to confirm each action that writes something.

Claude Code

1. In your terminal, run this command:

1. Inside Claude Code type /mcp, choose Hilo and authenticate: Hilo opens so you can tap Allow.

Cursor

1. Open Cursor › Settings › MCP › Add new MCP server (or edit ~/.cursor/mcp.json) and add:

1. Save; Cursor opens Hilo so you can tap Allow.

VS Code

1. With GitHub Copilot, open the command palette › "MCP: Add Server" (or edit .vscode/mcp.json) and add:

1. Start the Hilo server; VS Code opens Hilo so you can tap Allow.

Other AIs

1. Any AI or app that supports remote (HTTP) MCP servers with OAuth sign-in works.
2. Add an MCP server with the URL above; when you connect, Hilo asks for your permission.

Permissions you can grant

• Read: see your clients, projects, chats, documents, meetings and timelines, only what you can see in Hilo.
• Documents: create, edit and upload documents and files.
• Projects: draft deliverables, scopes (kept as drafts), timelines and contract templates.
• Chats: leave ready-to-send replies and private notes in a chat. They are never sent on their own: you review them and send them from Hilo.

Write

• crear_documento, editar_documento and subir_archivo — documents and files in Documents.
• redactar_entregable and redactar_alcance — draft deliverables and scopes.
• crear_cronograma — a project timeline.
• crear_plantilla_contrato — your own contract template.
• borrador_respuesta — a ready reply in a client's chat, not sent.
• nota_privada — a note in a chat that only your team sees.

Examples

1. "How is the Tienda Ana project going and what do I have pending today?" — the AI reads the project and your to-dos and sums them up.
2. "Draft the scope for the Clínica Sur project from its brief." — a draft scope is saved in Hilo for you to review.
3. "Prepare a reply to Marca Kora's latest message." — a ready reply is left in the chat; you send it from Hilo.

How to disconnect

In Hilo, go to Settings › Integrations › Claude, ChatGPT and other AIs and tap Disconnect: access is cut off immediately. You can also remove the connector from your AI's settings.

Privacy and support

The AI sees and writes only what you can see in Hilo and what you authorized. Hilo logs which tool was used and when, without storing the content. More details in the Privacy policy. Questions? Write to camilo@snc-designs.com or visit Support.
